Saint James is a hamlet in the town of Smithtown on the North Shore. Saint James is named after the local Episcopal Church. When the postal service established a post office here, they adopted the church's name to mark the area. Once known as a popular vacation destination for famous stage actors and actresses, modern Saint James is also suited to families. Saint James schools have an excellent reputation. Saint James is replete with fine dining, excellent shopping and historical landmarks.
