Saint James is a hamlet in the town of Smithtown on the North Shore. Saint James is named after the local Episcopal Church. When the postal service established a post office here, they adopted the church's name to mark the area. Once known as a popular vacation destination for famous stage actors and actresses, modern Saint James is also suited to families. Saint James schools have an excellent reputation.
